DJP Dumpsters

What Goes in the Dumpster

Devin's rule, straight off the phone: you name it, if he can haul it, he will take it. The no list has three things on it. Here is all of it, written down.

Goes In

  • Household garbage
  • Construction debris
  • Yard waste
  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Refrigerators
  • Mattresses
  • Hot tubs
  • TVs and e-waste
  • Concrete
  • Asphalt
  • Roofing shingles

TVs and e-waste go to recycling. Hot tubs fit, and we have hauled plenty.

Goes In, With a Charge

  • Mattresses
  • Tires
  • Appliances

Count them when you call and they are in the quote. Nothing gets discovered on the invoice.

Stays Out

  • Oil
  • Batteries
  • Asbestos

That is the entire list. Wet paint and household chemicals stay out too, and your county collection day takes those.

Inside a Loaded Dumpster

This is one of our dumpsters mid-cleanout: old subfloor, demo lumber, the ordinary mix. Load it level with the top rail, keep everything inside the walls, and the driver takes it without a conversation. Over the rail or bulging over the sides and he legally cannot drag it onto the road. That is a bad day for everybody.

Item Questions

Can I put a refrigerator in the dumpster?

Yes, refrigerators and appliances go in. Some appliances carry an extra charge, so count them on the phone and the quote will include them.

Can I put a mattress in the dumpster?

Yes, with an extra charge per mattress. Tell us how many when you book.

Can concrete go in a dumpster?

Yes. Concrete, asphalt, brick and block all go in, since weight is the limit here rather than the material. For loads that are mostly concrete, call it in that way. We will plan by the ton. We can also pick up concrete with the skid steer if there is no way to load it by hand.

Can I put paint in the dumpster?

Wet paint and household chemicals, no, and your county's collection events handle those. Dried-out cans are a different story, so ask when you call.

What is absolutely not allowed in the dumpster?

Oil, batteries and asbestos. That is the entire hard-no list, and it is shorter than most companies'. Devin's rule is that if he can haul it, he will take it.

Do you take yard waste and brush?

Yes. Brush, limbs, leaves and storm debris all go in. Dirt and sod are heavy, so a load that is mostly dirt should be called in as one.
